The NMHA offers House League and Competitive programming for players born between 2004 and 2020.  The following information will help you determine which program is right for your player.

House League Overview

Your player will participate in sort outs to determine the appropriate house league tier for their participation. Sort outs normally start the 2nd weekend of September. Teams play games within their own association and division, or an interlock league where possible and necessary.

Roster Select Overview

House A players looking for additional development will have the opportunity to try out for a development team, known as a Roster Select team. The NMHA piloted the program in 2022 and has proven to be successful. The Roster Select program includes additional practices and exhibition games at the U13 and U15 house levels. Teams are formed in November and run to February. There is an additional team fee of $400 per player. Priority will be provided to the House teams for ice availability.

 Competitive Overview

Your player will participate in try outs, to determine whether they are retained for a competitive team at the AA, A or B level. Players may choose to try out again if they are released from a team at a higher level. Players that are released from the competitive program will be assessed through the House League sort out process and placed on a team.
